First Year Elections, Attache Journal Launch & IR Clubs Fair

  • Rigby Room, St. Hilda's College 44 Devonshire Pl Toronto, ON, M5S 2E2 Canada (map)

Interested in getting involved with the IRSociety? We will be hosting elections for first year representatives for the executive and junior editor positions for the Attache Journal of International Affairs on Friday, September 25 from 3-5PM at the Rigby Room! All first year students in the Faculty of Arts and Science, St. George Campus, with an interest in pursuing international relations as a Subject POSt are eligible to run in this election.

We will also be launching the 2014-15 edition of the Attache Journal! Please help us congratulate the authors and the editorial team on this publication's edition, and to learn more about getting involved with the journal. Professor Mairi MacDonald, Director of the International Relations Program, will be making some opening remarks.

Finally, we will also be running a Clubs Fair throughout the 2 hours where you will have a chance to visit different IR related clubs to sign up and get involved. We encourage you to come and get involved!

Elections details:

If you are interested in running, please send a brief email to before midnight on September 24 indicating your name, student number, and which position (or both) you would like to run for. On September 25, you will deliver a 90 second speech to students and interested students in the program stating why you believe you are the best candidate for this position. Please note that while you may run for both positions, you can only accept one if elected.

First Year Representative (2 positions): These first year students will be assisting in all parts of IRSociety programming, ranging from the mentorship program, outreach, journal, events, and many more! This is a valuable experience for those who are intending to stay involved with the IRSociety in the future.

Junior Editor (2 positions): These first year students will be assisting with outreach and editing for the Attache Journal of International Affairs. This is a great way for students to learn about the editing process in a student-run journal.
